I'm considering a pilot's watch and choosing between the Mark XVIII and the Spitfire. Other than the longer power reserve, is the "in house" 32110 movement in the Spitfire truly a better movement than the 35111 in the Mark XVIII? Much thanks for any advice! In lookiing at these they are fitted with the 35111 Calibre which I believe is IWC version of Sellita SW300-1. Does anyone know what kind of accuracy you can expect from theses particular pieces fitted with this Calibre from IWC. Are these good quality movements? Has anyone had any issues?
That’s well within spec for IWC’s ubiquitous 35111 Calibre (a modified ETA 2892), but I hoped for better. As for the date window bedeviling pilot watch purists, I’ll simply say it’s the perfect size, shape and position to be completely ignored. Can someone confirm you have seen real IWC movements without any finishing other than engraving of the proper marks? I bought this Portofino from a local dealer with very good reputation, but only watch with no papers. Inside the current Pilot’s Watch is the calibre 35111, based on the Sellita SW300-1. #1. I have a project dealing with hundreds of cables, mostly all low voltage. We have existing conduits and I need to calculate conduit fill. Typically, I work with AC power so I use the standard 40% for over 2 wires. But I don't believe this applies to low voltage (coax, cat 5, etc.) wires.
